Grant Details

The QCF provides two grant opportunities for nonprofits each year that impact to the quality of life of residents in Commerce City. The amount of money available for grants varies each year and is determined by a city council appropriation in the city’s annual budget.

QCF grants provide funding for a wide variety of programs and services in the city, including emergency housing for homeless families, volunteer services and meals for seniors, advocacy and emergency assistance for domestic violence victims, health care, mental health, and local food banks. Organizations can receive a up to $7,500 each for the Program/Project Grant or $5,000 for the General Operating Grant.

2025 QCF Nonprofit Grant Recipients

After a competitive selection process, the Quality Community Foundation (QCF) has awarded grants to 25 local nonprofit organizations that help make Commerce City a Quality Community for a Lifetime.

QCF grants provide funding for a wide variety of programs and services in the city, such as volunteer organizations, youth services, meals for the community, and more.

Each organization will receive between $2,500 and $7,500 from the $140,000 total fund to support its work in Commerce City. Congratulations to this year’s grant recipients!

2025 Project/Program Grant Criteria:

Maximum award amount is $7,500
Applicant organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit in good standing with state and federal regulations
Grant activities must benefit Commerce City residents
An organization may only submit one grant application, either Project/Program or General Operating Support
Successful grantees will:
- Clearly explain and use data to demonstrate a compelling community need
- Describe their organization will address the need, including how they measure progress and/or success
- Have a Board-approved statement that prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
- Provide all required documentation. The Board will not consider incomplete applications.
QCF is unable to fund:
- Salaries, benefits or rent
- Debt
- Retirement
- Programs under a Fiscal Agent or Fiscal Sponsor
- Grants that further religious doctrines
- Medical, scientific, or academic research
- Grants for re-granting programs
- Capital campaigns

2025 General Operating Support (GOS) Grant Criteria:

To be eligible for the General Operating Support (GOS) grant, an organization must have:
- Previously received a QCF Program/Project grant and successfully completed the scope of work defined in the prior grant application(s)
- Expended all prior grant funds and submitted grant reports
GOS awards are $5,000 per organization
No more than 5 GOS grants will be awarded in one fiscal year
Grant activities must benefit Commerce City residents
Recipient organizations do not need to be based in Commerce City. However, a significant factor in the evaluation of the GOS grant will be the impact the organization has on Commerce City residents.
Organizations may only submit one grant application – either a Project/Program or GOS grant.
Applicant organizations must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit in good standing with state and federal regulations.
