Workforce Development

Through potential partnerships, the program aims to cultivate a pathway to employment at a good wage.  This will be accomplished through higher education funding partnerships, GED programming, and apprenticeship coordination.

The workforce development program area includes creating a new Workforce Pathway Program in collaboration with the Community Well-Being Division. The program is for anyone interested in advancing their career through GED attainment, apprenticeship, or education to unlock the potential of a good wage job. The program will support participants at various steps along their career journey and connect participants to services that support the attainment of their education goals through wraparound service organizations that assist with daycare, housing, or transportation needs.

This will be achieved by leveraging existing educational and wraparound service organizations, developing new partnership programs with existing educational and wraparound service organizations, and identifying additional resources to lower barriers and remove gaps for attaining employment at a good wage.
