Tax Seminars

Are you a business owner, accountant or tax professional? Join the Commerce City’s Tax Division on Wednesday, April 9 for a free seminar on city Sales and Use Tax from 9 a.m. to noon.

This in-person seminar will allow tax representatives from Commerce City to answer your questions and provide guidance towards preparing your business’ city tax returns efficiently and effectively.

Online Tax Filing Systems

Commerce City provides businesses two online tax filing system options: MUNIRevs (city portal) and SUTS (State's portal).

Please Note:

Before you file your taxes, please visit the Business License page to review license requirements based on the location of your business.
Commerce City does not require annual renewal of the general sales and use tax business license.

New ACH Payment Information for Sales and Use Tax now available

Effective August 1, 2024 – Commerce City has a new Tax Account.

This will require a change in ACH instructions to insure your payment is processed correctly. No changes have been made to our MUNIREVS online processing system.

You will still need to file your tax return data as previously done.

Sales Tax

In the city, the sales tax rate is 9.25%, broken out as follows:

Adams County	0.75%
Scientific Cultural and Facilities District	0.10%
Regional Transportation District	1.00%
State of Colorado	2.90%
TOTAL	9.25%

As a home rule municipality, Commerce City has a tax code for the administration of its sales and use tax.
